Default JBL speakers ROCK!

Sorry, but my first passion is music (the real reason I boughtan Ultra).I rented an Ultra to see if my wife would like it (didn't help) but once I heard the FOUR speakers, had to have it. The rental's HD amp was overdriven. When I bought my bike, I got the high output amp which cut distortion in half. These JBL GTO527s finished the job. Clean, clear and will take your head off (unless you've already ruined your hearingfrom performing). Some slight mods to rears necessary: 1/4" spacer and use the JBL retainers. Front fit fine.

I have mentioned this myself - u dont have to go out and spend $100 on speakers... the JBL GTO527 are 2ohm performance speakers at half the price and will bolt right in.

In a rush of impluse buying, I bought the HD amp when I purchased the bike. I would probablly investigate JM if doing it again. But, it's been a good test: rented a stock with lots of distortion/ bought mine 2 days later with amp which cut distortion in half and now the speakers thfinished eliminating the rest of distortion.

I purchased the JBL GTO527's but tried only one rear speaker installation. What did you use for the spacer as the speaker magnet hits the enclosure? You are referring to the speaker grill that came with the speakers as the "retainer"?
