Bikini for me. Thats about the only time I go to any type of wash. I like to do it myself. I don't like the high pressure washes myself. I like to take the time to clean it by hand well and make sure it has a good coat of wax and the chrome polished.

I don't like the idea of spraying water on a hot engine.
What do you do on a hot summer day when a thunderstorm comes up? Pull under something and wait for the roads to dry out?

The local car wash doesn't allow beer drinking, so I wash my ride in the driveway.[sm=icon_guiness.gif]Plus I'm really particular and I take my sweet time. No horn honking at the end ofmy wash bay.

I wash mine now and then Mr. Clean auto dry works good. California Dash Duster and Pledge when its not filthy. I have gotten over the "its gotta shine" after two months I would rather ride.

I think some of the folks here spend more time cleaning and talking about thier bikes than ridin them.

I use them sometimes. Usually when traveling. I rarely "clean" the bike though. Spray it down from time to time but I'm really lazy and had much rather RIDE the bike than clean and stare at it. I fear "some people" actually worship their bike. Won't spray water on a hot bike? Bet your dealership does. Trust me, it won't hurt it. Paint and chrome is nice, but riding it is MUCH nicer! It's amazing the stuff I hear:
Won't ride it if there's a hint of rain. Or after a sprinkle...
Won't ride above 90* or below 60*
Won't ride a dirty bike...
Won't clean with a hose?
Never use soap?

I mean, come on... [&:]

Never wash my bike. Dry cleaning only.
I don't go to a car wash, but I do hose the bike down in the driveway and use a liquid car wash soap. I DO NOT like the idea of the metallic brake dusk getting dry wiped on any of the bike's surfaces.

I prefer the idea of spraying off any loose dust and grit before a rag ever touches those shiney surfaces. Nothing scratches more than pressing a rag to the paint job (or even chrome for that matter) when it's covered with grit.

Like bikergirl40 said.... and to me there are times when power spray is needed underneath the frame and fenders on or after a dirty road trip...if it just sits around in the shop or ridden only in good weather...then no, a car wash is not needed.... so I am a sometimes (but seldom)...

Did you like your poll so much, that you had to ask it twice?
