I would not even take my bike to a charity bike wash even if it was naked Hooters girls. I would not let anyone wash it, especially when it is hot....

Can you please direct me to the "naked hooters girls carwash" PLEASE.

I use them sometimes. Usually when traveling. I rarely "clean" the bike though. Spray it down from time to time but I'm really lazy and had much rather RIDE the bike than clean and stare at it. I fear "some people" actually worship their bike. Won't spray water on a hot bike? Bet your dealership does. Trust me, it won't hurt it. Paint and chrome is nice, but riding it is MUCH nicer! It's amazing the stuff I hear:
Won't ride it if there's a hint of rain. Or after a sprinkle...
Won't ride above 90* or below 60*
Won't ride a dirty bike...
Won't clean with a hose?
Never use soap?

I mean, come on... [&:]

I guess the pressure washer at home would qualify for a "car wash". Why wouldn't you...knocks the bugs and stuff off so much easier. I don't wash mine a whole lot though....maybe once every two months or so. I wipe it off more with a cleaner.

To Kwoozn:

I generally just use a diaper and something like "Pig Snot" spray to wipe down the bike and buff up the gloss. I don't even like washing a car but it's just because I'm lazy and thought washing the car was the only reason my folks had kids in the first place. I diaper, Pig Snot (or other spray cleaner), some good tunes and a cold drink is a good way to spend a little time

I usually just wash it with the low pressure setting at the car wash. Sometimes I take a washing mitt to get the bugs off. Works for me. Just need to ride it not eat off it.

I use the car wash all the time, its 3 blocks from my house, I take a spray bottle of concentrated car washing liquid mixed with water, spray down the bike, let stand, spray again and then use the car wash on it, mind you, I never do the wheels, stay away from bearings and such..its mostly to get rid of all the ROAD GRIME and DEAD BUGS, ride him home, blow dry and its good to go again..I never worry about a dirty bike, I just ride, but if I know it is going to rain fora day or two I Wash and then polish/wax them both..never figered that washing and waxing is part of the fun, leave that to the wash/wax--bike nite crowd, plenty of them around to laugh at.[sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=happybounce.gif]
