1998 Road King Police

great bike! I have a 98 FLHPI too. I painted the red switch buttons with black model paint and it has stayed on now for 2 years. I had to fiddle with the electrical to get the extra wires off when I got it. Then installed a SE EFI Kit air cleaner, Power commander III USB, Rush slip on mufflers, Woods W-6 cam, new liferters and torrington cam bearing and Dunlop E 3 tires....I also changed to s a sundonwer seat so I am not up so high in the saddle. The air cleaner, cam exhaust, power commander woke the bike up and increased my power and gas mileage. Got 42-43 stock and 48-49 consistently now...strongly recommend these changes or something close if you want a little more power and driveability. I have an 09 RG and find myself ring the 98 RK most of the time. I like the motor and "feel" of the older bike vs the new bike. Enjoy your ride.

i recently picked up a 1998 road king police ( FLTPI) . SUPER BIKE. mine was purchased not frm auction, but the guy i got it from was a retired police officer and used it for funeral escorts, parades, ect. 12,300 original miles. paid a whopping $6K for it, and have seen the same bike on ebay several times for between $12,000 and $16,500. thing rides like a cadilac. only thing im planning on doing to mine is painting the black hard bags, side covers and nancelle birch white. mine has the bigger 2 up mustang seat on it with the drivers backrest , and it is like sitting on a sofa pillow. ive had 17 harleys, and had to sell my last one due to having 3 major back ops. it was real hard on my back. couldnt ride it 150 miles round trip somewere without paying for it for 3 days. first day i got this one, i rode it out on a 300 mile round trip and couldnt even tell id bee on a bike, thats how smooth it is.
