Morrow Mountain in the Uwharries. One of the oldest mountain ranges in America. Native Americans came here centuries ago from all over to collect a particular stone unique to the area for fashioning arrow tips, spear tips, and other implements that were traded up and down the east coast. The shards of which are still scattered all over the mountain.
The range was once believed to reach a height of 20,000 feet, but has eroded over 500 million years to just 1,100 feet.
