Coming up to the top of the hill after going through the Nez Perce forest. I think it's Kooskia, where you leave there headed north and a sign says something about no services for the next 98 miles. Or something like that. And they weren't kidding.
That's right off of Idaho 12 just before you cross from Idaho to Montana. Missoula is just down the road. Great ride from Lewiston ID to Montana, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Paul.
Yes. I had left Hell's Canyon that morning and was on the way to Chief Joseph Pass and back to Yellowstone. Just made it to Missoula at dusk then another 30 minutes down the road to the best Motel 6 the next town had to offer.

Ha, yep! We have stayed at the lodge at Lolo, and along with no cell phone, they have the most pathetic wifi on the modern planet. We limped in there one rainy night, and it took me 3 hours to text my wife over their "internet" and let her know I was alive.
Some Tennessee action, lost somewhere near the Land between the Lakes:
I just stopped for the pic, had to turn around and go back to the entrance as I blew past it the first time. There's some cool places to see in the United States but most of the magic starts west of Kansas.
