Default Rigid Mount King Tour-Pak on Street Glide

I will never be detaching the tour-pak. Does anyone know what I need to rigid mount the tour-pak? I thought it was Part# 53118-98 but, I opened the box and it has a license plate bracket on the bars. I do not think it is the right one.

Thanks,

Frank

You need the "hoop" and the lic-plate mount from an EGC or Ultra.
You need thishttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...QQcmdZViewItem

You will need to remove the chrome support tube from a SG to use a rigid mount. That tube is a plain chrome tube just above the tailight that connects the struts to each other. You will need to replace it because the license plate frame bolts to that tube and your SG tube doesn't have the bolt holes that the other touring bikes have, and the license plate frame is what supports the rear of the tour pak on permanently mounted TP's.

You can keep the license plate below the tailight per the SG stock location, but you will need to support the rear of the tour pak and that license plate bracket is what does the job on EG Classics and Ultra. I'm not familiar with the part number you posted, but you will need a different support tube as described, the chrome U-tube that attaches to the bottom of the tour pak, and the tour pak bracket that attaches with a bolt on each side just rear of the shocks and also at the rear of the tour pak, and the license plate bracket to support the rear of the box/permanent mounting bracket.

Frank, did you sell the Ultra in your profile?

The new cat says the same # for the rigid mount rack.Is this a miss print or wrong part in box?
You could e-mail John at Zanotti's to check on #.

I think I have the right part. I just don't like that you have to use the "license plate" bracket in the kit to support the bars in the back. That would look goofy with no license plate installed in that location don't you think? Does the detachable kit have a place for the license plate to go?

P.S. Need to update my profile. I had an '08 Ultra with ABS ordered but, no one could tell me when the bike was going to be deleivered. I found an '08 Black Street Glide with ABS and Security so, I went with that.

Is there anyway to "rigid" mount the tour-pak without having to use the "license plate" bracket?
