I get 7 years or more out factory. I probably wouldn't screw around with a battery that had a track record of 4-5 years.

in my experience in the last 10-15 years, your experience is the exception…..glad that you get extra time

As i said previously, I consider anything beyond 4 years - extra time, and anything beyond 5 years is bonus time - on a motorcycle or car or truck battery, regardless of brand name

Your mileage clearly does vary on the plus side

I have had quite a few go 7 years, and still good. I am not in a hot climate. Heat damages batteries.

4 wheelers, snow mobiles, sxs, only thing that gets 4 year is $30 lawn mower batteries. But I don't cut the grass much, or maintain those batteries.

Autos are 9 years. Truck got 300k miles. Big factor is using them,

there are the anomalies - my family car - i just replaced the oem battery last year = 2008-2021 = 13+ years……certainly not the norm. The car i sold to purchase that 2008 - the AGM battery was 5 years old almost to the day when i sold it - the guy who purchased that car text me the next week - he had to replace the battery…..

I am in San Diego, not in a Hot Hot climate like Phoenix or the like, and i agree with you - the extreme climates shorten automotive battery life considerably.

The bottom line for me - the last 2-3 motorcycle batteries I have purchased have been Mega-Cranks, and lasted me 4+ years, until i sold the bikes, so they may last 7 years, I don’t know, but I DO know, after 5 years, i listen VERY closely to the sound of the vehicle starting, and the first sign of lug lug, the new battery is on order or in the garage.

Keep the Rubber side down

I have had many different brands o batteries - oem HD, Interstate, Odyssey, etc…..none lasted significantly longer or shorter….

I don't use tenders. I have heard newer bikes with more electronics need it. But my 07 ultra and 01, seven years. One time got 5, and I was disapointed. It just died, so I think something wrong with it.

As I said sxs, atvs, trucks, skled, all over 7. The off road stuff either gets tender, or charger night before use. Off road stuff, battery sits in it all winter.

I should think about a new sled battery this year, is a 2015. I go back country with it. My truck 9 years and 300k. Was still good. But I noticed voltmeter was never going down.

my bikes, I try to keep in rotation. I go with factory batteries. Non harleys I replace with fleet farm, harleys I stay with harley batteries.

My 15 tri battery lasted 31/2 years, replaced with a Deka Big Crank it lasted 31/2 years and now on another. We will see how long it will last. But i think i will replace them every 3 years. I don't worry to much about as i carry a jump pack with me all the time.

My first newer battery failure. 10 months old. Didn't start after sitting few days in truck. 170k on alternatpr, 300+ on truck. Put on charger. 2 days later dead again. Lazy man's load test.
