I thought I could just replace the upper line on my 2008 FLHT, when I went to the 14 inch bars. Nope. Upper line, splitter block, both lower lanes. All one assembly. You may want to confirm yours can be separated before buying a line you maybe can't use.

I agree it's really odd that the dealer tech's haven't a clue how to do this. I would also be surprised they would install a non HD part and be liable for it. It's like taking your eggs to a cafe and asking them to cook them and then complain the eggs don't taste good. The HD line would be warranted but that $300 could buy a couple of loaves of bread, your call.

He has ABS. The diagram I posted above shows the line from the master cylinder to the ABS module is by itself and not part of the front brake line assembly.

That could very well be the case if you 08 does not have ABS.

Not all 08's had ABS

Same thing for me. 9 years later, the splitter block is all rusted but everything is working great

Default Adjusting brake line - need help

I need to adjust this brake line slightly by rotating it a bit. Any chance I can slightly loose this screw and rotate the line without risk of unsealing the brake system?

Yes, you can loosen it just a little and rotate it. I've done it countless times.

Yep did mine just last month. Just loosen it a little. Be careful not to let the wrench jump

Keep just a little line pressure on and then adjust it. This will keep any air from entering the system.
