Don't get it! Go with the AN Big Sucker! Much better design on the backing plate. I have them both, and the AN, IMHO, is the better of the two. It also helps on oil misting through the AC, which the SE doesn't.

if you order it seperate pieces you can get it for less than 90 with the kn filter. there is a thread on here with all of the parts numbers something like "poormans stage 1 ac"
also dont for get if you get it and you have changed your exhaust you will need to retune your ecm for the increase air flow. pm me if you cant find the thread.

Not only is it overpriced, but its filter element isn't cleanable. Buy the K&N or the Ness Big Sucker, the latter being cheaper--both of which have the K&N cleanable filters.

before I found this forum, I got the SE a/c, and regret that. I have since added aK &N element, and will need to get the chrome back plate, to run with an open element. It would have beed cheaper for me to get the chrome ANBS.

I too pieced together the SE kit and then bought the K&N filter. When I ordered the pieces I got the chrome backplate in place of the grey. Everything came to under $100.

Ya might call me crazy but I don't want my oil vapors routed into the intake. I just bought a used SE s/c that gives me the option to route the breathers through a rubber hose down to the ground.

Reason I do this is that I tore my Sportster apart at 11k miles and there was a very horrible amount of gooey carbon build up in the exhaust ports. I bet the ports were 10% blocked. From that point on, I've always vented the breathers out of the a/c.
