Looks like RTV gasket sealer. Way too much if it was used on gasket. I use just a film.

On the rear, if you see chain link pins hitting, shoe is done.

Mine has 50K on them . They looked fine at 30k. I rode easys however. Rarely exceeded 3200 rpm.

I’d say it’s part of the black chain guide. It’s way to hard to be sealant.

So while it was under the extended warranty, did they do any warranty work?

Interesting. Can you see the right guide looks damaged? Not one on the back side. I've never see that damaged but sure not a professional who has seen a lot of broken engines.

From best I can tell, normal tensioner wear is not going to hurt an oil pump. Pump lobes are extremely hard. As long as the shoe doesn't wear thru to the pin.

Small stuff can float up I guess and then it would need to go thru crank bearings into crank side. Only there at the bottom is the passage way to the oil pump suction side of the pump.

By then, it would travel to the oil bag. Then it's possible to come back thru pump to filter. So it's really just about impossible for it to plug a passage.

Well I found a few things. Not even sure where the metal ring goes. Keep on tearing down and see what else I find. Oh and the black piece I found definitely looks like it may have came from the front guide

Yep, Inner cam bearing.. Motor needs a complete rebuild. A good machine shop can bore that hole out to the 07 up bearing or sleeve the hole.

That metal ring is whats left of your bearing race. (I say whats left, because there are now about 100 loose needle bearings now floating around in there too. )

Wow, those pics are an excellent example of cam bearing failure. This thread should be a sticky.

Yes I realized that after looking a little closer and noticed it wasn’t on cam side lol. She’s treated me good till this point so can’t complain too much.

You sir, are a better man than I am. Id be screaming and freaking out at the moment, cursing every deity I know of and seeing how much a kidney would fetch me on the black market. Kudos to you for staying so calm and level headed. I dont know where in Canada you are, but when you get this rebuilt and find yourself passing thru Syracuse NY, look me up. The first round is on me.
