Default Scarey Kickstand

I have a 2004 classic. The kickstand drops out to it's normal position but then the bike will roll foreward makeing the stand roll back toward the rear wheel off center. It all ways locks but it is still unnerving. Any ideas why it does this? Thanks............

Don't let anyone tell you that you'll get used to it.Been having small heart attacks since 2003 because of those kickstands.

Yea, it's normal. I had always rode older harleys until I bought my 07 street Glide. I test drove it at the dealer. When I parked it and got off, it rolled forward a little and I about fell down trying to get to the bike before it fell. Scared the **** out of me.

It can be unnerving, but my understanding is that once you allow the weight of the bike to rest on the stand, it kind of slips into a stop that will not allow the stand to retract.

Yup, me too...

I understand mechanically what is happening. I know how it works. I know it can't fall over. But I still have a heart attack when it happens!
