HD Vin Number for Road King???
New to the HD scene and have a question about my vin number 1HD1FYW144***********??
I have figured out that I have a FLHRS/I which is a Road King Custom that is fuel injected....
My question is what the "Y" stands for in my VIN number?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...I'm trying to make some changes to the bike, but need to better understand the model?

the 6th digit is a "check" number, a number created at the manufacturer based on a USDOT formula to prevent people from creating VIN numbers out of thin air and using them on stolen bikes

The "FY" refers to the model which you already figured out. "FX" would be carb, "FY" would be fuel injection. You can also look the full VIN up on a bunch of sites for more:

Just did a vin check on a FLHR i bought from the serviceinfo.harley link. Sometimes they show up there sometimes they don't. It tells me i don't have valid VIN on the bike i just bought, but the other one i have it shows it. The faxvin link does report the motorcycles i have.
I only mention it because I freaked out when the Harley Service site showed i just bought a bike with a bad VIN, and went to the local dealer to verify the VIN and they see it, but that site doesn't show it.
