You will also need a wiring harness I think it runs $55 plus the $550 for xm at the dealer.
Check if they have it in stock beofre you show up. Good luck

The antenna bracket is about $5.

I have a couple XM radios that I use on my bikes. The first I got was the Roady XT which was only about $70 at the time (I think it's now on sale around $90). You can use it at home, in the car, or on the bike.

I also have the Nexus 50 XM/MP3 radio/player. I think SRS online is running the Nexus on sale with a $50 rebate, so the total price is only $20 ... which is a GREAT deal for a radio and MP3 player like this.

With both radios you'll need to run the antenna from the radio to an area where it has relatively clear access to the sky. That means you can't stick the antenna in the saddle bags or under the seat. I put the radio in the windshield bag and then run the antenna to a point behind the windshield. It's tucked in so it's not that easy to see but still gets good reception.

For what it's worth ... I love my XM radio ... especially when riding across country. Some folks like just an MP3 player but they don't provide sports/news/talk radio. It's nice being able to switch from one of the 120 (literally) music stations on XM/Sirius to one of the sports/news/talk channels.

You could just sell the HK Radio and go to biketronics and get their retro radio kit. You can get a Sony radio that is SAT and IPOD ready. That way you can see all the text on the radio and you can control the radio, SAT and IPOD through the handlebar controls. On the other hand, if you use the CB/intercom you will need the HK.

LMAO...I love it when somebody replies to an ancient post and it comes back like it was new.

But since the thread started a lot has changed. If it was me, I'd hold off on spending any significant $$ on XM or Sirius hardware until we see if the company is going to survive financially. If you haven't been keeping up with it, they're in a world of hurt right now.
