2012 FLHTK: Bad compensator?
#13
My comp is still good but, when it’s time I’ll go with either The Dark Horse Man-O War or Baker compensator. I already installed the baker tensioner and did that on my previous built Dyna.
I would go with either of those compensators comboed with the Baker Attitude adjuster…..you’ll have no worries after.

Have you had any issues with crankshaft? Or other bearings since installing the eliminator. I want to eliminate my 2013 flhx compensator but have heard stories of failed crankshaft

Mine would sometimes kick back against the starter when hot. I would clean the battery terminals and the cable battery ends. It would then start well for about a month, then begin to kick back again. This time I cleaned the battery connections AND the connections on the other ends of the cables. Things seem much improved but will have to wait to see if it just for a month or if it is a more permanent fix. This definitely does not require a skilled mechanic but limited access at the starter and the frame cross member made it a time consuming, fiddly job.

Just started to tear into my 2011 FLHTK, witch should be the same as your bike ( 103 ) , As stated above by My Fav Rk mine has the HD SE comp. The problem I have now is trying to find a torx bit for that bolt. HF, Rual King, Napa and Tractor Supply in my area does not carry them that big.
