"Manly man bikes don't have horns or gas gauges" I really don't agree with that but HD must because both the horns & gas gauges SUCK, what I don't understand is WHY WONT HD GET OTHER VENDORS FOR THESE PARTS!

Dudes ,Not to worry I read somewhere on here about a horn made by a company call Stiebel (sp) made in Italy .Found a supplier a called Adventure Sports are something like that 973-258-0034 tell them you want the compact model nonchrome. I did have a little trouble get the guy to ship it ,this is a part time thing for him. To Galveston shipping and all $44.00 when you get it seperate the compressure and the horn unit .Take that POS MOCO horn out of the cowbell and work the new unit into the cowbell run a air line under your tank and to the left side cover . Mount the compressure unit under the side covr wire it up and your ready to blow people off the road. 139 db

Hmmm...

Back in 1997 I mounted one of those Rivco horns on my '94 Sporty's Highway bar...it lasted about 90 days. Near as I can tell vibration shook the compressorto death. It justflat quit working...nothing I tried would getthem going again. Tested and worked them every way I could...I finally just gave up.

I went to Griot's Garage and got some German Hella Horns...mounted oneon the bolt that holds the front of the gas tank to the frame.I took the red horn protection cage off and painted it blue to match my bike. You hardly notice it isthere.Notas loud asair horns (much cheaper though)butMUCH louder thanstock. Made neighborsondeck over 100 yards away look upwhen Iblastedit.Never had a singlemalfunction.

Griot's has the Italian horns also.

It's not just the 05 horns.. they all suck.. But you can access an adjustment port on the back with a small screwdriver. Just turn to fine tune. But really! The horns suck.. try a good motorcycle air horn

Got tired of bringing my bike to dealer for horn replacement.

Direct replacement of HD stock horn, except that it is metal and it always works.

Around $15 atmost auto parts stores.

I tried all the fixes mentioned but none worked. I bought a Stielbel horn - it is the loudest magnetic horn made. Works great. I think it was $20.00 or so and it is actually a set of 2 because it is a car horn. One is a little higher pitched than the other so I have a spare if it ever does go down.

My stock horn sounded like a "sick goose"! I've replaced it with BJ's Horns.

Funny you should bring this up. I spent this afternoon repairing the frayed horn wiring on my 05' FLHT. From day one it has never sounded right! Yesterday I hit the button and a fuse blew out. I thought it might be because I washed it anhd got water in the horn somehow?

After removing the horn and inspecting everything, I saw where the wire was arching off the engine mount. It had cut through the shielding and one of the wire's insulation.

I raised the tank in place to get to the wire and used liquid tape to seal the frayed insulation. Then Islit some tubing and placed it around the wire (out of site)so that the tubing rests on the engine mount.

Now the horn is working great!

I had an 05 Fatboy with the dying goose souding horn. Now I have an 05 Eglide with the dying goose with a bus parked on it sound. I'd replace it but the hooker tuned flow mufflers and a Head-Quarters 95" build just sounds so much better than some stupid horn. Stupid horns.
