I just talked to the local dealer here, and your price would be near MSRP. There is also 1,000 in free stuff until the end of the month on all models except dressers.

Price example:

2005 Deluxe Solid Pearl Red with FI $18,080.00.. The base bike lists for 17,080 + 400 for FI + 225 for freight. That makes it about 375 over MSRP. Certainly better than 2,000 or 2,500, even if you have to travel 5 or 6 hundred miles to get it.

Shoot! I can pick it up and have it broke in for you by the time you get here. He!He!

I'm not trying to sell bikes for this dealer, and I get nothing for it if you buy. I am more interested in people that want a bike getting what they want at a fair price. I lived through the 90's when there was no such thing as MSRP, or anything close.

If you are coming off of a Gold Wing, then I would definately recommend the Ultra. I personally don't like the solid fairing on the Road Glide, but that is a personal thing. The basic bike, frame, engine, trans., tires, etc. will be the same on either model. Also the Road Glide does not come with a tour pac, nor with cruise control or a CB radio if memory serves.

As far as the wire wheels, I got them on mine, just because I think all motorcycles should have wire wheels. Guess that pretty well dates me. In reality the stock wheels are more pratical. You don't have to tighten spokes or make sure the wheels are true, and if you get a flat, you can plug it and get down the road far enough to get it fixed. Not so with the wire wheels.

Jcurry, Ive got the laced rims on my Ultra simply for the look, and tubes also are a benifit. In my opinion that's the way to go. If you don't use an intercom and a CB, you can get a Classic and add lowers and rear speakers for about the same money. Personally, next time that's probably what I'll do. The cruise control is great for long trips, but you will definately need a back rest. Rear brake pedal is lower and closer than a Wing, so that may take some adjustment, and no intergrated breaks is also a difference.
