Default RE: removing heel shifter

I wouldn't ride without it. The heel shifter saved me from being stranded. The front toe shift strippd out and actually slid all the way down onetime. If it wasn't for the heel shifter I'd been stuck in 5th gear at the end of the off ramp. I've been with to other guys on trips that it's happend too.
Good luck to you all that took them off.
I hope you all don't travel together, otherwise someone is Fu**ED..................

I removed the toe shift lever then took the heel shift lever and flipped it around forward. This gives me the stock position (in/out). I like the spline end cap, I'll have to get one of those.

carry my heel shifter in my tool kit, that way i have a spare (never needed it in 45,000 miles) and i have the extra space on my floorboards.

Me too. with my big feet, i didn't like the heel shifter, but do carry it as a spare, along with a clutch lever, in case i bust one on a trip. The chrome cap from HD/Kury works and looks great.
