Default Street Glide Windshield

Hey guys and ladies. I haven't been on here in a while, but I just got a new Street Glide and I have got to get a new windshield. Freedom Shields 7 inch is $120 and the Clearview Sport (6.5 inch) is $80. Seems like a big difference in price, yet both seem to be well reviewed. Anyone who knows about these shields, please chime in on how well they work, buffeting, and quality of construction and finishing, and if you've had both please compare them.

Thanks

Freedom Shields are slightly thicker, and the edge is hand buffed. Looks far superior in finish to a Harley OE windshield.

I can’t speak for the other brand. You get what you pay for with the Freedom Shield offerings

Thanks. My guess is the cost is the indicator. Clearview will be better than stock, but not quite as robust or nicely finished along the edge as the Freedom. Or maybe the biggest diff will be the polishing/buffing.

This is an 8” Freedom shield in medium smoke. The look will be different than the stock shield. But it works better, especially if you are tall. I’m 6’3”, long waisted, tall in the saddle if you will, and running a Mustang seat that sits me up a little higher, and the 8” Freedom works for me.

Neither one will cure buffeting.... Good luck

I have over 100,000 miles on my $40 8" LRS. No cracks but a few scratches from dealer wash boy abuse!

I have the clearview 6.5" works very well however I agree about the buffeting, it will not cure it but will reduce it, and with a set of fangs will almost eliminate it, the clearview is as its name sake, very clear view, here's a quick video review I shot.

Yep, fangs.

I’m a disciple of the fang. They work.

But a good recurve windshield gets that wind over the top of my helmet too.

Here’s my two cent opinion. I’ve had a Long Ride Shield and a Clearview shield in the past. I now have a Freedom shield and it is a superior product compared to the other two. Not that they are bad, that’s not what I’m saying. It’s just that the thickness, finish and overall look of the Freedom shield is better. That’s were I’d put my money if I were in the market for a new windshield. Any if the three I mentioned will get the wind going up over your head as long as it’s the right height.
