Wireless CarPlay adapter on sale

I spent a little more, and got this one: SuperiorTek 3.0 Wireless CarPlay Adapter for All Factory Wired CarPlay Cars Wireless CarPlay Dongle Convert Wired to Wireless CarPlay top1f https://a.co/d/9WueZWd
It seems to interface with my Soundstream Reserve hdhu14+, extremely well. I’m impressed, so far. It also seems to have the highest user rating, on Amazon. Though, their reviews aren’t nearly as reliable, as they used to be. The rating is so high, in fact, that I worry that reviewers, weren’t bribed for higher scores. I’ve been contacted twice, by Amazon vendors, to raise my rating, in exchange for my money back.

I have my USB drive to the USB port in the cubby hole for songs etc. and when I want to play songs off the phone, I just select the phone on the radio instead of the USB.
I get phone calls, routes, or music that is Bluetoothed to the radio.
When I have this & ^^^^, why to I need a CPlay or am I just missing something.
Trying to understand,
Thanks again,
JB

I haven’t experienced that. But, I do have an iPhone 13 pro max, which has one of the best battery’s, of any smartphone. I guess you could always charge it, while it’s mounted, or, if going on an extended trip, wire it directly.

CarPlay and Android Auto, allows you to use some of your apps that are on your phone. The map apps like WAZE, Apple Maps or Google maps, always stay updated. It also allows you to divide your screen, so you always have maps and music showing. It’s just more user friendly.
I'll have to look into this some more.
Thank you for the information.

On a long day using nav and music, I use an external battery to plug the iPhone into. Both easily fit in my vest pocket.
