Default Noisy rear brake on 08 Road King!

Just checking to see if I am the only one who has a new 08 touring bike with noisy brakes. The rear brakes on my Road King started making noises after the first 100 miles and is getting worse. In the stop and go traffic at Sturgis I had the noisiest bike on the street and it was not from the stock exhaust. After returning from Sturgis I took the bike to the dealer who checked and cleaned the brakes and found nothing wrong. That same day the brakes were noiser than ever and embarasing when stopping at intersections. I contacted the Harley customer service line and was told this was the first time they had heard of the problem.

So I have Two questions; has any one else experienced noisy brakes on their 08 with Brembo brakes and what should I do to get them fixed?

I have the same problem, but it seems to be getting less and less. When it does it I just touch the rear brake for a second and it goes away.

While at Harleys expo at the civic center in Rapid city I discussed the squealing problem with one of their specialists, his comment was that one of the engineering and design criteria for the Brembo brakes was "no squealing". In my case this did not work. This is the tenth bike I have owned in forty years (Honda's 2, Yamaha's 3, Suzuki's 3, Harley's 2) and has the noisiest brakes of any.

I will keep the LRB pads in mind, but would hope that Harley would fix the problem on a new bike with 1,100 miles on it.

Yep, the good Ole HD brake scrape... Had the same thing on my 03 RK, as does most everyone I know. LRB is the way to go... sucks you need to upgrade a new bike (first of many).

Ride safe.
