HD dealer parts guy who is a good dude sold me some INOX lube, bottle will last for about 50 years of lubing. Seems to work great cost about 8 bucks.

PJ-1 cable lube is the brand my dealer uses, so I also use it ... about $8 for an aerosol can. While you're at it, buy a cable lube injector (also saw this at the dealer's), about $15 but worth every penny:

I use Tri-Flow... goes in wet then evaporated to a dry lube.

I've been using CLP Breakfree which is sold in gun stores. It was what I had at the time ( 2 years ago ) and I've been using it since. Not sure how critical the type of lube you us is.

3 in 1 oil here, i dont think i would use wd40 or break-free they dry up. I use a cable luber for spray lube works good for the clutch cable but then i use a 5cc 2-Part LL Syringe Rubber-less Plastic with a 22 ga needle for the throttle cables to inject the 3 in 1 oil and to lube all the other small places that call for lube in the service manual.
by the way the rubber-less type works better since the rubber o-ring will dry between services.
