Interesting thread - In June I was in the market to replace my 05 Royal Star Tour Deluxe. I looked at several BMW's and almost got the KT1200. I had the money lined up and something
just didn't sit right with me. I then found a great deal on an Black Pearl 07 Road Glide. I fell in love with the bike immediately, gave the dealer a check and left a happy man. Wow, I almost made a mistake
and bought the BMW. To each is his own!

I have an older K1200LT, I'm thinking about buying a new one since the Harley didn't work out and might have killed me with too much heat exposure.....[]

I also heard and read in this forum, the gay community rides Harleys so that turned me off as well

I thought about buying a BMW, but decided I was not a good enough mechanic to keep it running. [sm=lol.gif]

So what you are saying is, you based your decisionto not buy a new HD is because of what you saw from someone elses HD???
So you have never actually really test rode one your self????
Or as you would say "Drive one"...........................Anyone who has ever rode any HD would know the engine will get hotter after you shut it off before it gets cooler...Man what a dum troll......
Please just hop on your ugly AS* BMW and go away.............

Well if I ever get to Texas again, I guess I could buy some RJ Shields and wear them as Armour underwear so they can wick the sweat away[&:]

I'm also amazed at the product for Monkey Butts, never knew something like that existed till I came to this welcoming, bash your Harley site. They must of made it for the new 96CI Harley motors.

Bring it on........

Hey UltraKla$$ic, you must work for Harley - LOL

Once you go BMW, you never go back...

Harley has the marketing down but they don't have the better Motorcycle.
I gotta say that is not true. I've owned a89 R100RT, 96 R1100RT, 99 K1200LT, and a 02 K1200RS. I was a die hard BMW rider and looked down on Harleys. Now I ride a 01 Ultra and wouldn't go back to the LT at all. I'll admit that the K1200LT handled better and had way better brakes. But the 2up low speed stability sucked and it rode like the huge bike it was. It was a great 2up machine but I hated ridding it alone. My Ultra for some reason dosen't feel as big as it really is, also the low speed stability is wonderful. I've put 6k on on it since March and only didn't ride a few days last week when the heat index was over 110deg. I'll admit it does put off some heat ( I would never ride it with shorts like I've seen some idiots doing), and you've got to remove the lowers in the summer to avoid being cooked.

I do miss my heated seat and grips though.

I really think you should give the Ultra another try. Even Harley has a dowload that greatly reduces the heat put off by the engine.

Don't worry about the other flamming you, most of them didn't even know anybody else besides Harley even made motorcycles.
