Vibration

RE: Vibration
I assume it could be possible a slighly loose compensator or a stretched, but I would check that last. Personally never felt it with a chain that was loose.
you have to put it on a lift ($60- $150 depending which you buy for home).
remove left running board, and jiffy stand and passenger foot peg.
Drain primary oil.
Remove primary cover.
Then it is best to completely remove the compensator assembly.
Clean the assembly (especially the threads) and reassemble with locktite
and re torque.
I would recommend contacting zanotti hd and get the HD auto chain tensioner while you're at it. possibly best price.
As the chain wears and stretches it gets loose. this would also give the slight (non normal clunk most HD's have) during a shift and roll on the throttle.

RE: Vibration
Hi guys, I'm no mechanic and new around here, but this vibration problem sounds like worn tire or wheel balance problem. I foolishly didn't check tire pressure, took a ride, hit a railroad crossing too hard, bent a rim, had all kinds of vibration before the tire went flat. Hope I have learned that lesson. The last post stating the need for a new tire was a dead giveaway to me.
