Personally, I don't know why someone riding a large HD would want to ride the Tail anyways. If you want to see trees on the side of the road, go ride anywhere inthe woods - the view is same. And how much fun can it be upshifting, downshifting, braking hard, lean hard left, lean hard right, slow down there's a car in front, get neverous and pissed there's an a$$hole tailgating you.
I want beautiful scenery, not that crap.
If there are so concerned about vehicles and bike crossign the yellow line, put about pastic markers between the double yellow lines. We have them in places around here where two lanes merge together on a highway. It keeps people from crossing over. You would think they would use their heads than use taxpayer's money.

I was up at the dragon during the week of july 20 talking to a TN trooper. Really nice guy who explained that the weekend just before I came up, there were 7 (seven) people killed in accidents directly related to excessive speed, and negligent, all on the dragon. To answer someones question,Yes they were directed to conductmore extensive aggressive enforcement in this area. Can you blame them? Seven people dead two of them were not even on bikes trying to avoid the motorcyclist who was way too fast and out of control.Lets remember it is not just motorcycles on this road. How would you feel if it was a family member of yours??? No they should not be harrassing someone with out probable for the stop. However I was glad they were out there slowing down these idiots who think they can take corners at just plain stupid speeds and crossing the lanes into oncoming traffic!!!

Yes, the GAP. The weekend I was there saw ONLY six accidents. You think the cops would go some place else.
They are obvoiusly the cause; people are watching out for them SO much.
All the Zoom Splats, sports cars, and on lookers are not to blame. The cops are.
I have never beem stopped by a cop up here in NH when I was obeying the Law.
Moreover, I have been "let go" most times when I was honest and polite.

I just returned home last Saturday from riding the BRP and the Cherohala Scenic Drive. I only saw one or two police cars the whole trip.
I did not go on the dragon but instead turned onto the Cherohala. I did see many bikers riding two and from the dragon and surrounding areas. The crusier people were riding responsible for the most part and the Crotch Rocket people were crazy. I don't wish anyone harm that I don't myself inflict on them, but some of those CR guys are dangerous. If I could have got my hands on two guys inparticular some one would have had the hell beat out of them. They passed close to me at such a speed I couldn't have reacted in time to avoid an accident if I neededtoo. I won't return to the area soon because partly not only did I have to watch out for the road, and cager's crossing the center line, but also dumbass bikers.
The cops don't have to look hard for people driving recklessly or breaking the law it's everywhere I looked. I still managed to have a great time and I suspect so will everyone going to the Knoxville rally.
I agree with some of the others it seems we all pay for the other guys faults.
