Last summer's trip to Sturgis from metro Atlanta was 4950 miles in 9 days--first day was metro Atlanta to Sioux City, IA--1100 miles. Coming back we did Cheyenne, WY to Conway, AR--~1100 miles in a day, albeit a looonnnggg day.

Two weeks ago rode to Virginia Beach in 11 hours--just shy of 600 miles, and, of course the return trip.

On a touring bike, interstates, good weather, and summer daylight, 600 miles is not hard in a day's riding.

I am working on a ride next year where I do 6000milesover7 days. We can criss cross the country alot. But you better be an iron butt already. The idea is to ride, just ride - as long as possible.

Gene,
Just remember one thing on that ride...... make it so you enjoy it.... Its not about the miles.... it's about enjoying it! 6000 miles in that short time won't see much of the scenery your passing by......

Yesterday Alpena Mi back home home in Nashville Tn, around 800 miles in 13 hrs. Same deal northbound on Tues last week. Get on it and stay with it. Forget all those stops and just ride.

I like to slow down and smell the roses. I seldom ride over 300 miles a day, but then again, I almost never ride the interstates either. You don't get far at 55 mphon a two lane.

My longest one day ride was about 670 miles in a day. I did Biketoberfest in 24 hours. Rode from Naples to Daytona in the morning, saw the sights, partied a bit, waited about four hours to get the booz out of my system and rode home.

Because a lot of the guys I like to ride with live around Orlando I do a lot of 500 miles days.

I've ridden a few long ones.....Dallas to Chicago to Santa Monica back to Dallas.....Dallas to Colorado Springs and back....Dallas to Laconia and back.....
Twice I've ridden over 1000 mi. at a shot. It's tough. Both times by myself. (I have the timed gas reciepts to prove it.)[8D] Last was from Flagstaff to east Texas in June. Tough.
The hardest ride I've done is crossing from Barstow to Ludlow to Needles to Kingman. Middle of June. Waited too long saying goodbye to the rest of our group and didn't leave Santa Monica until noon. Big mistake. Hit Barstow about 2pm...105 deg.....Ludlow 3pm (roughly) 112 deg.....Needles 5pm 118 deg....WOW!!!
I like long rides but my wife doesn't so I find myself alone most of the time. Her loss.

42.5k on it ....pretty much stock
going back to Colorado Springs in Sept.

i can go as long as I need to go, however, the longest single days mileage for me was about a 425 mile loop we did... very enjoyable...but then again, i can enjoy any riding I'm not in a hurry to do... hate the rushing to have an actual destination and a time frame to work with...

Longest ride me and a buddy took one day was from Winter Park, CO. to Abilene, KS-about 520 miles. The rides we take are usually for the sights and the ride-not the miles.

I rode 1069 miles from Oklahoma City to Dillon, Colorado last week with only 5 miles of it on the interstate. Took me four days but I stopped all along the way to see the sights, meet the people and drink the beer.
