Default 2017 rk dead lithium battery

Wifes RK sat for 2 months while she was riding her 97 Dyna and battery is dead. I understand I need a lithium battery charger and tender for her bike. I see HD has a new 4 battery charger aas well as 2 new single battery chargers.
Anyone have experience with this issue?

You’ll need this. The RK has a constant draw and if you have a lithium battery it needs to go on a charger at no more than 3 week intervals for 24 hrs.

I'm just curious as to where you got that charging "limitation"....??

According to the description on the charger you posted, it's a "smart" charger. It claims to measure and adjust to match the charging voltage to the current charge status of the battery...

There should be no problem leaving that charger connected to the battery 24/7 when not riding the bike.....

I've had a lithium battery on my Sportster for over 4 years now and still going strong. My stock alternator/regulator charges the battery just fine. The Sporty has security and have gone a couple or 3 months at a time w/o a tender and fires right up.

I also have the Optimate tender above and use it. It's on the Sporty now since end of October. Like most smart battery tenders, it can stay connected 24/7 and the Optimate will maintain the lithium cells.

OP - did you change out the OEM battery for a lithium on the RK? I don't think they come with that battery, so not sure why it won't hold a charge after a couple months.

i should’ve said don’t let the battery go more than 3 weeks without charging. As far as the charger staying 24/7, I’m sure that’s no problem. I had a battery tender malfunction many winters ago and fried my battery, so that’s where that comes from.
