Default How to tell 2008 from 2009 roadking?

I’m looking at a 2009 registered RoadKing classic but it’s manufactured in end 2008.
Is this considered a 2009 model? How to tell a 2008 from a 2009 externally?

2009 was the year they made the chassis change, it should have a 180 rear tire. And yes, I would assume it was made in ( late ) 2008

10th character of VIN indicates model year.
8=2008
9=2009

It's just like in the automotive world, since last summer you could buy 2022 model cars even though they were manufactured in the middle of 2021. Boats and motors are also like that. That is why a VIN number or a product model number is so important.

the 180 rear tire is the easiest check, but the most accurate would be the vin. look at the 10th digit in the vin, 2008 will be an 8 and 2009 will be a 9.

*i got distracted in the middle of my reply and by the time i got back to it, someone else had posted the info....

and if it is a 2008 keep looking ... The 2009 upgrade is definitely worth the minimal increase in price
