it’s a dealer 09 96cu FLHRC stock vs a owner 12 103cu FLHR with added batwing and a rear trunk.
I’ve placed a deposit for the 12RK!
Both my other half and myself likes the 12RK better, the color the hard bags extra storage.
I’ve also read that the 12 will have better compensator, better 5th gear etc…
hope the higher miles is not a concern though.

btw, why do people like batwing and trunk on their RK? Why don’t they get the street glide, Electra glide etc?

I have the batwing and trunk on my '13 RK. The batwing helps with wind protection in the colder months, although you guys are next to the equator you probably won't see temps below 20*C. Many in the States ride in temps around 5*C this time of year. The batwing also keep the hands dry in the rain. Besides, we can strip down the RK (minus the batwing and trunk) for around town, very versatile.

Since you're on a very small island country, many in the States have a trunk that require carrying the wife's "stuff" to be carried at great distances, like going from Singapore to Bangkok.

I dont think the model got worse as time went on, they were constantly improving them. I wouldn't consider a 96 CID ever, the 103 in this case is the way to go.

mileage not really a concern ya...
how do we tell an engine's health? lower mileage not always better i assume...

How it was used and serviced is more important than the miles. You can do a compression test for peace of mind if you like and if it sounds good then ride and enjoy. Aside from that monitor for oil consumption but I doubt you'll have an issue.
