Default Tour Pak Luggage Rack

I'm considering getting the Premium Tour-Pak Luggage Rack, P/N 53665-87. Ya pretty much see them everywhere. What's involved in doing the install? Is it best left to a dealer? What about leakage?

You must position in right place and drill 4 small holes. Screws come up thru bottom to hold on, best I remember they have rubber washers to seal it from water.

Very easily said - a royal Pain in the Butt to get right - I about drove my self crazy before I finally drilled the holes... I was worried that after I got it installed I would stand back and say "well, that's sure NOT straight?"

Maybe its just me.... good luck...

Does NOT leak and I use it all the time out on the road...

Do they provide a template for the holes? I'm thinking that getting 3 out of 4 right ain't good enough.

piece of cake, just take it slow and follow the directions. place masking tape on the tour pac in the general location of the rack mounting legs. once you get the rack where you want it, draw around the legs with a pencil onto the masking tape. Check it twice when you get done. drill a small starter hole, then enlarge with the correct sized bit for the bolts.

I believe it does come with a template. I am looking into getting one of these too.

I guess that's one of those "measure twice, cut once" situations.

The pack is great to store you helmets in, I keep two full face in there with no problem.
