tall skinny guy on heavy bike - new seat?
I'm 6' tall, about 170 lbs. Always a skinny guy. My first bagger was an 08 Road Glide Anniversary. Nice bike, and I was fairly comfortable on it after changing the bars. CG wasn't too bad and I could paddle it around without issue. Well, I stepped up to a 17 Road Glide Ultra and big difference. First off, the bike alone is like over hundred pounds heavier. And the CG feels much higher and I feel higher off the ground, further reach to the ground. It's fine on the road. But paddling around parking lots, or a gravel lot, or a slopped gravel lot....Gives me quite the pucker factor. I've heard the best thing to do in this situation is to change the seat. Any suggestions? I don't want to give up the comfy ride! When I want a harsh ride I take the chopper out!

Check out Mean City Cycle...they will refurbish your seat based on your needs. I had mine narrowed and reduced padding (along with a special gel padding) for me. I have 30" inseam and had same issues as you. Narrowing the front of the seat brought my legs closer together, which gave me more flat foot and better manuvering around.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm surprised nobody is chiming in with a regular aftermarket seat (saddlemen, corbin, la pera, etc). Mean City looks like something to check out, and looks a lot cheaper than an aftermarket seat (and why have 2 seats anyway). So I think I'll be contacting them.

Super Narrow – $175
Order Now PLUS RETURN SHIPPINGWe reshape the sitting area of the seat to lower the ride height as much as possible and change the foam to Memory foam in the driver's sitting area. We narrow the seat pan where your legs go down so that the seat doesn't keep your legs spread apart as much and this really helps get your feet on the ground a lot better. (With this modification we can lower the riding position or keep it stock height. We can move the riding position forward or back or maintain the current front to back sitting position.)Thread
