You’re using a cable….bike to phone.
No way to go wireless that I’m aware of.
I had Android, now IOS…I don’t believe either can connect to the bike without the cable.
You can use Bluetooth headsets wirelessly, obviously, but I”m fairly certain you need to use a USB cable to the phone of your choice.
Somebody keep me honest there.

Also I believe you have to have the WHIM for Android Auto to work. I've updated my firmware/software and followed all the instructions on
HD's website for getting it to work. No luck (and not a shocker either). Talked to a couple HD techs who are good friends and they told me I needed the WHIM.

That's my same experience...No matter which phone you have, it has to be plugged in. The cable is what tells the radio/screen to display.

I did not need a WHIM, still don’t have it on mine.
Full transparency, this was just for Android Auto to use Google Maps, stream via apps on my phone (Pandora, etc.)
I didn’t try any kind of headsets.
For my current Apple phone, I put the jumper in place, again, no WHIM, to use CarPlay.
USB cable used in both instances.
