I agree they look pretty cool. I like my lowers too much as well. Thinking of getting matching 1 1/2" bag guards and handle bars for my King to round things out.

 

While hopefully it does not happen, to anyone, if you drop your bike, it looks to me those smaller bars, MIGHT allow the bike to tip over to the point of the tires actually off the ground? Bot sure but that WOULD really make picking it up a lot harder. I had mustache bars on my sportster, and they are a good compromise, at least for me.

 

It's possible with the full guard too, but I think the scenario you present is unlikely. The bottom of the bar is where it would contact first, weather chopped or full, that bottom corner seems to be in about the same place. I imagine they would function pretty much the same.

I do have a concern about them however. I have highway pegs on my guard. It looks like the chopped guard would severely limit the mounting of pegs. Of course they can be mounted, but I'm thinking of over all adjustability.

 

I have highway pegs on P-Clamps as shown in the 2nd pic in my post above. They're just right for me and my seat configuration. For different configurations and rider inseams the adjustable long angle, short angle or 360 mounts would be enough to accommodate pretty much anyone.

 

I have the chopped guard on my 21 RKS. I installed highway pegs on the Harley short angle mounts. For reference I am 5’ 11” with a 32 inch inseam. There is quite a bit of adjustability with the short angle mounts. For short riders, Harley also makes long angle mounts. And there is some room to place the mounts higher or lower on the chopped guard.

 

We just started to get more Lindby guards this week. They have been flying out as fast as we got them in. I guess they are hard to get like everything else. If I can help in any way, let me know.
