if you're interested in having a second exhaust on hand (you know, if you ever want to change things up), the fullsac cvo cores are great with the cvo mufflers. the 2.0 that i had on my bike were the perfect mix of sound and performance. in fact, when we were looking for an exhaust for my wife's 2012, we put a set on her bike as a temporary measure. she ended up selling her bike in 2019 and still had the fullsac on it. so i guess 7 years could be considered temporary, lol.

also, in ref. to shocks. if you get a good set of 13'', when you set the sag properly, they'll be close to stock height, or maybe even a little lower. those 12'' 'premium' hd shocks just don't have any sag to them at all.

Thanks for the comments Skratch,

I agree on the flush fuel cap. Any brand options you have experience with or recommend?

Yeah I totally forgot about the fullsac cores. Remembered after I had ordered these. My wife really likes the sound / tone so we’ll probably keep them on a while. The only issue I have with them is they are short. I was able to get the CVO slip on’s to extend beyond the bags which I prefer. I may have to experiment with them.

Funny but we were just discussing shocks today. My wife really wants them and I’ll be glad to get them installed also. She also wants a chopped tour pack, but suspension will be first. At the end on the day I’m sure we’ll go with 13 inch.

Merry Christmas

the only flush mount fuel cap that i have had experience with is the hd one. it came stock on my 2013 cvo. had it for over 6 years with the only problem being that if you aren't careful when filling the tank, the force from the nozzle leaning against the trim ring will chip the finish on it. the good part is the trim ring was only about $10 to replace. replaced mine every couple of years. imo, black would look good on that tank.

it's been a minute, and i've slept a couple of times since, but i seem to remember a thread from right after the new models were released with the side fill that mentioned that the threads/fill hole was different on the new models and there was some compatibility issues with the older fuel caps. so you may want to search for that and to make sure that the fill cap will fit.

also, in addition to the other brands of shocks, take a look at super shox. usually available from your dealer, and they have a 30 day return window if you don't like them. if you call them, they will give you the stock number the dealer would need to order for their recommendations if they aren't just straight off the shelf. my wife loves hers.

skratch,

We did order the HD brand (on back order) and like you decided BLACK would be the best looking option!

Thanks

Default Flush Gas Cap

Installed the flush mount gas cap in black. Looks sweet! Little did I know the Carolina Girl thought the stock cap looked like a big pimple!

She gives this upgrade two thumbs up!

Definitely the easiest install ever.

Original stock chrome cap.

New flush cap without trim ring

Completed

Beautiful bike....congrats., Those handlebars look perfect. With the increased handlebar height, does the fairing still protect the hands?
