Default Disappointed in Rush Slip-ons. Other options?

Put a set of Rush 2.0 on my SG based on all the positive reviews from this board. I discovered they are way too loud for me. Just not the sound I'm looking for. I doubt 1.75 will be much better and 1.5 too restrictive. I'm looking for something in the middle of Rush and stock. Any suggestions?

So now you're looking for more bad advice? [8D] j/k. Check out a bike that has the V&H Ovals. I have them and they're just right for me.

When I changed from 2" Rush (too loud) to the 1.5" the sound was perfect (midways between stock & 2") and I saw no loss in performance.
As usual, YMMV...

SUPERTRAPP SE's preserve your torque/hp without the noise. 3db louder than stock.

Go hang out somewhere and listen to some. That's the only way you are going to find out if you like the sound. Almost anyone would gladly start their bike and let you hear their pipes and muffs.

I was with all sorts of bikes this past weekend. Though I don't own them myself I was very nicely impressed by V+H ovals, very nice sound, not loud at all. Myself I have a set of 98B's coming, deal was to good to pass up otherwise after hearing what I did this weekend I'd buy the V+H ovals slip ons or the Supertrappsfor my 07 Ultra. I have also heard very very good things about the Suprtrapps as well, sounds like its a matter of choice between the two. For slightly improved performance, not much increase in noise it seems the way to go.

just my 2 cents.

Vance & Hines basic slip-ons .. when my ThunderHeader mufflers were too loud I switched. I must say they were a lot quiter than the ThunderHeaders but a great sound especially after theybroke in. Still has that Harley sound without the obnoxius ( no reflection on those of you that like the loud ones ) noise.

Just my opinion but I am very happy with my Rush 2" .

Take the advice listed above. Go out to a cruise night or your local watering hole and listen to others bikes. Otherwise you are getting someone else's opinion on what loud is.

Good Luck.
