Seat removal for Ultra

RE: Seat removal for Ultra
I have a thumbscrew in place of the stock screw. You just reach in from the side and spin it off with your fingers. Cost about 5 bucks and says Harley Davidson on it. It will help to bend the seat down in the middle as you lift the rear up until the tab at the front comes free.

First of all get rid of the seat strap. Buy an extremely long screwdriver that allows you to reach the screw behind the seat and clear the top of your tour pak. Open the lid and carefully remove the screw (if ya drop it you never know where it is going to land). After the screw is out pull the back of the seat up and pull the front of the seat back away from the tank until the seat flange is out of the slot on the frame (rear of tank). Hook up your battery tender cable and let it dangle out the right side of the seat. Use a wire tie to secure it to the frame leaving just enough to clear the seat allowing enough room to plug it into the other half of the batter tender cable. Replace seat in reverse order.
