Thumbs up Motorcycle lift scissor jack - which one???

Hey All,

Been looking for a long time for a nice used bike lift and finally got one! It’s a Pro Cycle DT model by Direct Lift. Thing looks practically brand new and operates perfectly smooth.

To all of you that have air lifts what scissor jack do you guys have/recommend to jack the rear for tire removal? Trying not to break the bank to much more.

Thanks

I've used the "Black Widow" forever, rock solid. Available from Amazon.

Nice looking table , as far as scissor lifts go , I have 3 from Princess Auto , much like your Harbour Freight , they haven't let me down , even use them when washing my bike . Once or twice a year I clean them up and grease the bearings , so far so good .

For most of motorcycle owning years, I've never had room or space for a lift table. Once I had the room and got one, I don't know how I survived without one... You are going to love the lift table...

I bought two Black Widow scissor jacks.... They were like $90 each when I bought them several years ago..

I liberally use both scissor jacks for both stabilizing a bike on the lift table, and for removing wheels. I use a scissor jack anytime I put a bike on the lift, in support of the safety straps. I've heard/read too many stories of bikes falling off lift tables for the most bizarre reasons. Using a scissor jack takes only a minute, and just like safety straps, is easier than dealing with a fallen bike....

I always use one jack to stabilize a bike, whenever it's on the lift, whatever job I'm doing...... for my peace of mind

I use one jack in order to remove the front or rear tire. If I need to leave the bike on the jack, with a wheel removed while waiting for parts, I put the second jack under the bike also... again, peace of mind...

I have used both to remove both wheels, but I won't leave it on the lift, up on two jacks, any longer than it takes to do the job without additional support.... If I need to leave the bike on the lift, without wheels for whatever reason, I put the axles back in and support the axles with jack stands, with just enough pressure/weight to assist the scissor jacks..... again, peace of mind..

Appreciate the suggestions fellas and thanks HATTITUDE for the safety tips. I completely agree…better be safe than sorry and find you bike upside down or on top of you. You got a good deal on the black widow scissor cause they’re like $140 now.

I outfitted my lift with a K&L MC455 Fat Jack and a K&L MC10R wheel chock. Not budget friendly at all but I'd buy them again. Also put 4 retractable straps on the table, IMMIO.

Ended up getting the stark jack from Amazon. Those extra lifter things which are really cool don’t work on Harley’s as they are way to high, but I kinda anticipated that. Great scissor jack for $98 shipped! Probably will get another one for when I have to remove front and rear wheels.

I would definitely recommend!
