Default Shout Out for Dan @ Timpanogus

I am in the process of getting rid of my Rushmore Road King and I have been reviewing what I really want for my last ride trying to use 59 years of riding experience vs. my age... and Dan at Timpanogus HD has been providing advice. First, he didn't immediately advise me to get a three wheeler so that was good... and second, his knowledge about HD models and the changes over the years has been a pleasant surprise... big help to me and way beyond my level. The moral of the story is if you can find a salesperson with this kind of knowledge (not common in my shopping experience) it is worth what you are going to pay extra by buying through a dealer. Thanks Dan!

Do you want a new bike or a used bike? If you want a new bike, who will you buy it from if not a dealer?

Well, HD is doing such a poor job of providing new inventory to the dealers that some may buy the new ones and then turn around and sell them for a profit...

Due to what many think is so special about Dynas, for example, since they aren't made any more finding one like the one that I might buy for a reasonable price makes new ones attractive to a certain extent but I am not overimpressed with many features of the new bikes... they are often unnecessary from my expectations and they are problematic when it comes to maintenance and force you to get simple work done that old school bikers are used to doing themselves.
