Default Anyone try dura dressing on your tires?

I’ve been using dura dressing on my car tires for about a year. Love the stuff. Dries completely and doesn’t bleed or sling. I would never put regular tire dressing on the side of my bike tires but how about this stuff? I think with proper application it shouldn’t be a problem.

Clean and dry - don’t tempt fate. Early on I was a big “gotta shine” all the time and foolishly used Armor-All (even though there was a clear warning big old label on the bottle - life lessons often hurt) on an old 1980 Honda CB750F. A few very slippery twisters along Highway 49 in California cured me of that stupidity.

Keep the shiny stuff on your automobiles. My $0.02.

With it being a dry not oily type of thing I think it would work. I have never used it but have used harley black tire dressing and it works great. Its put on the same way.

Bad Idea! Dry things often can be just as slippery.

You are braver than me. Wouldnt think of putting anything on my mc tires....maybe the foot board rubber and handlebar grips, but never the tires

I like a shiny-ish tire, but it never looks right on a bike because we all know not to put dressing on bikes. Think of how many people will scold you for it or just think of you as a fool... Not worth that hassle.

I would agree with the others about putting any kind of "dressing" on MC tires unless you were storing it for the winter, etc. but wash the stuff off before any riding. One interesting note, many years ago, 1984 I believe, I joined a Corvette club. While some club members and myself were prepping our cars for a local car show, one of the guys in the club that had some experience with judging cars at car shows looked over everyone's car. When he got to mine he found two things wrong. One was floor mats, even though they were the original stock mats, he said the judges want to see the actually carpet. The second was the tire shine on the red line tires. He said get that off your tires. Your car didn't come from the factory in 69 with that stuff on the tires. The comment about the tires always stayed with me and the only things I have put on any vehicle tires since has been cleaners, soap and water.

...I've been known to gloss my tires w/Armor All.
Never had a problem with sliding.
Of course I don't ride Harley Touring bikes like Nicky Hayden.

An old 'hot-rodder' trick in the 60's and 70's was to put/rub
some soft drink on the tire sidewall.
I remember it gave a good shine, not like Armor All, but glossy or
shiny enough. It would stay on for a while until it got wet.........
