Magic Strobes install causing check engine light to come on
#11
I didn't read the entire thread, but just in case it wasn't mentioned, the connector you circled is for the Security System Antenna and probably not where you want to connect the strobe.
You prob want to connect it to the light harness which it looks like you've done. Maybe try connecting it back up, and then if you get any codes, clear them and see if they come back.
Getting codes are normal when you disconnect/reconnect cables etc. Usually just clearing them fixes the issue.
How to read and clear codes: https://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-29661-...ble-codes.html
Also, things look different under the seat on the 21's. New ECM etc etc. Things have moved around a bit so that can lead to confusion.

Crazy, today I reinstalled everything just like I did yesterday. Afterwards, I rode to the same gas station and pretended to get gas, then took off again waiting for the check engine light to turn on. I rode all over town and it didn’t turn on once. I’m super happy things are working and the check engine light doesn’t come on.
I was expecting to have to follow instruction on how to clear the codes but never did!
Thanks to all who’ve responded with tips and encouragement.

I had an issue with the CD Magic Strobe after properly installing (I think). I emailed their support contact with very specific info, got a VERY fast reply with a specific remedy to clear the codes and sync my Strobe with my bike’s ECM. The links they sent me also happened to be their published FAQs if I had bothered to look first. DOH. They also followed up afterwards. It’s arguably the fastest and most competent customer service I’ve ever received anywhere.

Did you stop on the way home and pretend to eat some food too? :-)

I didn’t actually stop at the pump, but I did park in a parking spot and turned off the bike, just like I did when the issue originally occurred. I didn’t take the gas cap off so I didn’t do literally everything I previously did, but I wanted to replicate it the best I could. Probably was overboard but I felt better after doing it and not having problems.
