Default 2017 street glide special

I am going to test ride a 2017 street glide special tomorrow. It has 670 miles And is owned by a friend of mine. It has several upgrades Like heated seats and handgrips, stage 1, tuner, upraded wheels and headlight, speakers in the saddlebags lids. He wants payoff of 21,000. It looks like a good deal from what I have been able to look up, (i called the dealer he uses with the vin and no issues there). Any opinions on whether this is a decent deal or not and what to look for with this year and model? I currently own a 2003 road king that I bought new.

Payoff has exactly zero to do with the value of the bike. Do your research and don't get ripped off. According to KBB, a DEALER would list it for $20K. Typically private sale prices are between trade in value and dealer listing price. If it were me, I wouldn't pay more than $19K

That sounds like a lot of money for a bike that's almost 5 years old. How much was it when new in '17?

New it was about $24K, but that also has little to do with the current value of the bike.

Around here that bike would get $21k all day every day, and twice on Sunday.

It's practically brand new, with some pricey and practical upgrades.

If I were in the market, I'd scoop it up, swap oil pumps to the newest version, add a primary vent kit, and then enjoy the bike.

Figure in new tires, a 1k service, brake fluid flush. 5 years is the recommended age limit for tires regardless of mileage. All those fluids sitting in the bike for that long is not ideal nor is the engine and trans sitting that long without being run.

The other side is mileage wise, the bike is new (less than 1K) on the clock. You won't find a new one with those upgrades for less then 29k . but yes its five years old. Service the bike and it's like new.

Thanks for all the input! It helps a lot to get input from other riders. I test ride it this evening and will let you know how it works out.
