Default What’s your setup? Lowering street glides.

What lowering set ups are your running on your street glides?
I have a 2014 street glide. I put a 21’ rim on the front and lowered the back 1.5 inches with 10.5 drag specialty shocks. It was too low and ruined some of the wires in my rear fender.

I had a 2012 that I lowered the same way but also lowered the front 2 inches with burly lowering springs after raising it up and inch with a 21 front rim. With the set up I put a dent in my front fender.

I’m now lowering the front 2 inches on my current bike to see if it gives me more clearance for the wires in my rear fender. My 2014 street glide has more clearance under the triple trees than my 2012 did. I’m hoping to not put a dent in my 2014 front fender.

I wish I knew someone who lowered their bike this way to see if it worked. Trying to figure out the right setup to lower a 2014 street glide without damaging anything.

I'm going to be installing Dirty Bird front/rear suspension and center stand in the next week or so. Not on my bike though. I'm looking at raising mine in the rear, but that Dirty Bird kit will lower everything on the RG it's going in. What I don't know is how much or if it's only when parked.

I love that color on that bike. Gorgeous.

thanks! I thought about doing a dirty front and rear on the bike next winter. I’m curious on how it works for you. You’ll have to let me know how much it lowers it and if you have any problems.

I have JNR on my '14 street glide an love it. I had a thrown together DIY kit on a bike years ago an it rode like ***. This JNR set up is has a nice ride. I don't plan on lowering the front unless I go to a 21" wheel someday.

With a 21 front and 17 inch rear tire, I lowered the front 1 inch with springs and went with 12” Ohlins blacklines in the rear. Sits level , rides and handles very well. No rubbing in the rear with a 200-50-17 tire and the front fender has plenty of clearance even with forks compressed. Harley mechanic that installed the front springs told me that if I went any lower than 1 inch that a very good chance of the fender getting dented when forks compressed.

putting mine together and going to try and compress the shock to see if it will hit my front fender before I install it.

GF has fat bagger kit on her SG; pricey but gets seat low without compromising suspension or damaging components, assuming you're not doing it for looks.
