Catch can

Cool.
FWIW, I'd advise against too small a catch can that vents out thru holes around the top... I have used one, a chrome one and paid more than 50 bucks for it. It was like 2" tall total, its volume was soooo small, and would "mist" out of those holes and needed to be emptied a lot. Really noticeably in spring and fall or weather in the 60's and below. It wasn't "horrible" or anything, just would see it on the rear header pipe, cause that catch can hung under the breather.

Thats odd that it fills like that. The way they explain it in the video is it needs emptied like every 5k miles or so. Even then it didnt show much was in the can. Maybe it sprayed from all the filter in it or oil level a little high? Ill check into other cans before I pick one out. Great info from everyone so far. I appreciate it

I ran the one in my pics above and did not have any misting, so you may be alright. In the top "chamber" I do have a filter medium in it to try and help get anything that didn't "drop out" in the lower chamber, to maybe help it to drip back in the lower chamber. But it didn't mist.... but I did switch to this one. I've made a half dozen or so tinkering with them lol
Before painting fittings black.

The extra length of the catch can helped mine, but in some ways contributed to it in cooler weather.

On my M8 King I went the easy route and just bought the DK Customs 606 breather assembly with there vent kit and just used there little filter. I've only put about 900 km on this spring and haven't seen any oil drips. Only real difference I've noticed is my fuel mileage has gone up approx 2 MPG.

Here's my homemade setup using a cover I made and a water supply line that picked up at lowes. The trick is to get some clear expoxy and put on about a half inch of the hose at each spot before you cut it...keeps the braiding from fraying apart. Then the clamps cover it so you don't even see it. I used a pex t fitting and a crankcase breather from the auto parts store. I have the same setup using black oil/gas hose when I run the stock cover and want a more discreet look. I was able to use the stock bolts and I using the ac/dc intake from fuel moto.

You should be able to find a flat backing plate with a separate attachment for the external breather , however , most all backing plates will be bolted on the breather holes to help support the throttle body . I would contact DK , or he might respond to your thread and suggest what might work . You could go with a flat backing plate , with a separate breather attachment, but I think you might have to change out the filter , in that case , in that case , your better off purchasing a new set up and sell the Big Sucker .
