What I dont understand, and I might be missing something.......... Is why can you take a CB dash plug, and make a jumper out of it, then you can plug it in when you want, and take it off when you dont.
Is getting under the Fairing and hooking up the plug to the harness the Only way? I have not bought a manual for my 21 U L yet, so I cant look this up.

I have both and much prefer the headset (CB) jumper that plugs into the console on the tank. Problem with the one that plugs into the WHIM connector under the fairing is, it's not easily removed.
Once it's plugged in the WHIM connector, it renders the wired headset in-operable. If I want to use my wired headset, I'd have to remove the fairing to unplug the jumper...not real convenient.
With the console dash plug it's so much easier. Plug it in...CarPlay work. If I want to use my headset, remove it, plug in headset and CarPlay still works as the headset (mic) is plugged in.
Hope that helps.

The guy selling the plug for $100 is taking a 12V adapter dust/dirt plug for a cigarette lighter adapter in the fairing of a batwing and cutting/gluing the DIN/Pins inside of that.
As far as ascetics and usability, hats off to him.
$100? Don’t think so…
