Ever swap the bars out on you Street Glide or Electra Glide?

Ever swap the bars out on you Street Glide or Electra Glide?
I should be getting my new lower profile pull back bars for my 2006 Street Glide in a few days. I plan on getting them installed right away. I was wondering has anyone pulled the handlebars off their FIXED FAIRING bikes? Could you tell me if I will need new idle, throttle and clutch cables because I am not sure if the current cables will accomodate anything than the OE bars.
My bike is new and the cables are obviously not worn or strectched therefore, if I can save some $$$ and not replace them that would be great. The only reason they would need replacing and that would be because they don't have the length that I need.
So if you've pulled the h-bars off I'd appreciate your input.

RE: Ever swap the bars out on you Street Glide or Electra Glide?
I put bars on mine and I used the Harley bars. I needed new cables for, idle, throttle and clutch. I also needed to change front brake line. It's a fair amount of work. You also will need to pull exhaust to change clutch cable in order to get trans side cover off. It was well worth the work for improved comfort. Plan about at least a half a day. Have a shop manual for dissasmebling the ignition switch and re-assembling it. Dealer wanted 3 hours to do swap, depends how handy you are, it might be worth paying dealer.

Did you ever finish the install? ?
So far I have read 3 posts that said 2", 3" and 4" over stock, I'm looking for the best fit while retaining the stock routing. what length did ou use?
Did the length cables you bought allow you to retain the stock routing or would you recomend mabey 1" longer or shorter?
Thanks in advance!

I went with the lower bara and more pull back and there was no need to lengthen any cables. You can out pictures here >> http://photos.yahoo.com/taleenandsosi@sbcglobal.net
I'm not the best photographer in the world but you can make out what a drastic difference there is in the bars.My Street Glide
