Crankshaft Bearing Issue??

. I thought on stock Harleys', there was a retainer ring on both sides of those roller bearing. Has someone been in there before ?
Rarely for you see a garage mechanic going past were you are. Big replace parts or the rebuilders on here probably are best.

If you slide bearing back, you should be able to see groove in case.

Thanks for all the info! Not sure what caused this to happen. I've had people tell me to look at a few sites where they rebuild the crankshafts and fix know flaws. I just have to figure out if the case itself was damaged. No harm to the cam bearings but would replace those just to be safe. Also looking at the upgraded cam plate and high volume oil pumps. If this can be fixed then I don't want to do it half way. Just put new chain tensioners in about 3K miles ago. Engine had about 30K when this happened.

I found out Darkhorse Crankworks is only 1 1/2 hour from my location. Will try to schedule an appointment with them tomorrow to inspect the crank and case. They also do Timken bearing case upgrades. Unbelievable that you have to throw money at something that should have lasted 3 or 4 times longer.
