Default Pipes turning color

RG 2007, 700 miles

Right side first pipe (closest to the wheel) at the 45 degree bend is turning color, light tan about 3" above bend and 3" behind bend. Newbie, so I'm trying the best to describe.

Is this normal and what would cause this. I'm coming up on 1000 miles service, what is the dealer going to say about it (yeah I know it's normal) - what should I expect them to do?

Thank you for the help and advice

It's normal, more so on the 07's from being leaned out so much. You can do what I did and install the cover piece from Kuryakan and forget about it.

It is normal. That is what most of your pipe looks like under the heat shields. Boggles the mind why they leave that piece of the heat shield out. Every touring bike I have seen has the discolored pipe right there unless the filler piece has been installed.

Get the Kuryakyn piece and you won't be able to see it anymore.

Think HD is bad? Try a BMW.....Single-wall pipes with no chrome heat shields! Blue pipes are a way of life for Beemer riders.
