Since it sounds as though you are mechanically inclined I would bet on you being able to fabricate something that would suffice. If you are planning to put the Road King rear fender on then then I would start there. The part that is missing is for the u-shaped bracket that goes around the back that originally held the license plate. I also believe that would also contain the brackets that support the saddlebags. I am guessing you asked the seller if he by chance had those pieces?

To be honest most of my experience is all on 2009 and newer models. I could tell there was some hacking done but didn't know exactly what was missing. I could vaguely remember helping my buddy put a tour pack on his 2007 streetglide but that was it. The seller was the father of the recently deceased owner so he knew little about the bike.

I would like to delete the u-shape bracket because I think it looks better without it. I believe that was the owner's intent. I plan on properly supporting the fender while providing detachable mounting points for my backrest and a mounting location for the saddlebag supports. I had one saddlebag support like in your pic but had to order the other side. I also ordered 2 pieces of .875 diameter x 12" long 1018 steel that will slide inside the tubing that was cut. I am waiting for everything to arrive. It does not look like it will be too crazy complicated. Thank you for your help.

I thought about getting rid of my u shape bar as well but just could not bring myself to cutting the frame. :-) so I elected to dress it a bit with laydown plate. I have the know how to fabricate but no time and not proper equipment. Keep us posted on your progress.

That looks great! What a beautiful bike!! Would love rear turn signal bullet bar like yours but idk if I can spend $180 ugh. I just cant bring myself to putting the "lollipop" turn signals back on either haha.

Did you black out your chrome yourself? Paint or powder coat?

I actually had all the chrome powder coated and rattle canned the tins. Many will argue you can't get the same finish as a professional spraying but like I say. paint is paint no matter how it is applied. :-) Wasn't spending ridiculous money the body shops wanted to paint. I found these people on Ebay and actually lived right down the road from their business. Couldn't be happier with the end results. all for around 300$. Picture is what the bike looked like when I got it.
