Just an FYI, you can order OEM paint through your dealer. I've had it sent to me discounted through Surdyke. It's super expensive when you get all the things necessary.
Primer, Reducer, a quart of Clear, a quart of Color, and Activator cost me almost 400.00.
Bought all the HD stuff just to ensure chemical compatibility and an exact match. Came out great though. Just Way expensive as mentioned...
It was necessary for me to go this way as there are certain Colors that HD has not released the formula for. In my case, Black Quartz. bastards!

You can order your paint from Harley. When I needed Black hills gold and quartz black to paint the sidecar. Big surprise HD dealer was the lowest cost. Ended up not paying for the Black quartz They had some left over from another project.
Big thing with some of these fancy colors they may require a base coat that cost as much if not more than the final coat.
I am about to find out what Zephyr Blue and Sunglo black cost.

i used colorite to paint my whole bike 2 winters ago, people can't tell my rattlecan job from professional. Other than a couple cans of clear that was foggy, it came out nice, now having said that, I used to paint cars as a side job when I was in the Navy to fund my 70GTO Judge resto. Got pretty darn good at it. Lots of wet sanding and polishing. But then again, that is what winter is for. LOL

what color is it?
2 stage? 3 stage? lots of flake?
The basic colors are easily available from PPG, and you should be able to do a fender all day long with a 1/2 pint of paint, because once you reduce it the volume is larger.
Some jobber shops/supply houses will do a 1/2 pint, some won't
When you are going anything with a red tint, that runs 200 dollars +++ a quart, you don't want to buy more than you need.
Vivid Black on a fender is one color you can cheat on and use a straight black I forget the code, but in the good old days code 99 in lacquer worked great.
