Default Installing windshield

Dumb question....I'm trying to put my windshield back on but the spring things on both sides don't seem to want to seat snugly. They are supposed to right? I installed it like the service manual said; lower grommets first and then push back on the top of the windshield to seat the windshield into the upper grommets. That all worked, but it seems the springs should be engaged somehow, but they are just sitting loose above the rubber grommets. And if I pull the top of the windshield towards me it will move. So I missed something.

Like I said....dumb question. [:@]

We have the same bike, came color too, actually. And it seems like we are almost neighbors. I re-installed my windshield the other day, and ran into the same exact issue. I just kind of bent the springs down a little. The windshield fits very snug in there, so it was ok. I am curious to see the answer to this one.

That's too funny,I'm in Hanover. I've had the bike over a year and never really needed to take the windshield off before. But I decided to on Sunday since it was raining and decided to clean the inside of it. But like a dope I never took a mental picture of what posistion those wire things were in. I'm sure I don't have it on right but I can't see howI can get them to fit more snugly. My worst nightmare is it comes off the bike at 80 mph.

Yeah, if I can't figure it out in the morning, I'll just ride to work with it. I really wish I had looked at how those springs sat before I pulled it off. Oh well.....

I have afew diffferent windshields. The springs on 2 of them always fit tight, one is loose and doesn't seem to engage well...this is the one I use most of the time and have never had any problems with it being secure.

i am new to the whole thing also but i have taken mine on and off a bunch of times. I could be wrong hear but as far as i can tell they are just a safety feature. mine dont fit snug but i do have to pull them up in order to get the top to pull out of the gromets.
If i am wrong i am sure somebody will set me straight.
